Some dental offices in our network use CEREC to create and place crowns in a single appointment. You won’t need a temporary crown or a second visit. The process uses a digital scan instead of impressions, and the crown is shaped and adjusted while you wait. It’s a straightforward way to repair a damaged tooth without weeks of waiting.

Some clinics use AI tools—like Diagnocat or VideaHealth—to support the way dental images are reviewed. These systems can flag small details and suggest areas to take a closer look. Your dentist still makes all the decisions, but this technology can help catch things earlier or back up what they already see.

The iTero scanner creates a 3D image of your teeth without the mess of traditional dental moulds. It’s quick and comfortable. These scans are often used to plan Invisalign treatments, crowns, or other procedures—and let you see your own teeth on screen during the visit.

CBCT stands for Cone Beam Computed Tomography. It gives your dentist a three-dimensional view of your mouth and jaw. This kind of scan is typically used to plan things like dental implants or check root or bone structure before treatment.

Your dentist may use a tool called a VELscope to shine a special blue light inside your mouth. It helps reveal changes in the soft tissues that might not be visible in regular light. The screening is quick and painless, and is often used during oral cancer checks.

Most 123Dentist clinics now use digital X-rays instead of traditional film. They produce images faster, use significantly less radiation—about 10% of the amount used by traditional film X-rays—and can be viewed instantly on a screen beside you. Your dentist can zoom in, explain what they’re seeing, and keep a record of changes over time.

Some clinics use dental lasers—like Diagnodent or Biolase—for procedures involving gums, early cavity detection, or soft tissue treatments. Lasers can reduce the need for freezing in certain cases and may support quicker healing. Your dentist will let you know if laser care is right for your situation.

An intraoral camera is a small tool that lets your dentist show you what’s happening in your mouth. It can take close-up images of your teeth and gums, so you’re not guessing what’s going on. You’ll be able to follow along and ask questions with a clearer picture.

Blue LED light is sometimes used during teeth whitening to help activate the gel. This process helps break down stains and brighten your smile. If your clinic offers in-office whitening, your dentist can walk you through how the light fits into the process.

Some dentists wear magnifying loupes with small lights attached. These help them see tiny details more clearly while working. It means better visibility, more precision, and less strain for the person doing your treatment—which can make a difference in the result.
